Phantasy Phootball is back!

Sorry, sorry... **Trigger warning** for Kyle
With that run, a new Phantasy champion was crowned. My dearest Aaron Jones, would go on to gain a few more yards and bring home the trophy to Raymond James McGuinness for the first time since 2014. Little did we know that it would essentially mark the end of organized sports. The Earth, so impressed with my unbridled power and ability, set upon us a pandemic that both ruined our summers and now threatens the very Phantasy season we know and love. No highly infectious respiratory illness can rip this beautiful trophy from my hands and if the NFL should cease to exist ever again, I will go down in the history books as the greatest and final Phantasy Phootball Champion... BUT... hopefully it doesn't come to that!
The league has seen an unprecedented reign of stability the last four years with no new owners joining the fray the last three years and most of the rules changes have been, in my opinion, for the better. But alas, as the status quo has reigned, inequality has begun to fester in our league. The four league owners who make up the HAVES now control EVERY SINGLE CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE LAST EIGHT YEARS while the HAVE NOTS (cough, Coleman and Timmy, cough) have barely even tasted a winning record in that time. While I'm all for socialism in the real world, being part of this league's bourgeoisie has given me a taste of the elitist life I've always dreamed. When I see a lowly team like a Kevan Acker or Austin Briggs, I laugh to myself and never pause for even a minute to think what it must be like in their shoes. The Phantasy realm is a cruel one so in order to keep things fresh and perhaps give one of our peasant teams a brief glimpse at playoff hopes, I have decided to realign the divisions.
Divisional realignment will be done at some point before the draft. The way we will choose divisions is TBD. You may ask, Ray what is even the point of the divisions since we play everyone anyway? To which I say... stop talking to me.
The only other additional rule change (at this point) for the 2020 season will be the addition of two, count 'em, TWO Injured Reserve spots on the roster. Listen, things are gonna get fucking weird this year with COVID-19 and if baseball has taught us anything it's probably going to be a completely disaster. Two IR spots feels like the right balance to me but I'm open to suggestions. I'm considering making ONLY players that are on the COVID-19 exempt list eligible for these spots (would have to be manually checked) but honestly I don't even know if we are going to have enough information to know that on gamedays. More to come on this -- let me know if you have any thoughts.
You may be excited to hear now that the Phantasy League now has A WEBSITE!
This will be our hub for all Phantasy news and where I'll likely direct any stupid questions you may have. The Phantasy website includes League Rules, Keeper and Franchise Tag options, Hall of Champions (former champs send me content for your page), as well as All Time Standings and many other great resources. I will continue to add to it as well as email you important league updates.
Stay tuned over the next few weeks for more Phantasy content including the Season Preview, Draft Information, and a special surprise! The last thing I ask is that everyone participates in the Preseason Survey linked below to help us answer some key questions as we head towards the season. Looking forward to a great season.
-- Your faithful commissioner and reigning champion, Ray McGuinness
